The Crankworx Summer Series Canada is bringing Crankworx-caliber racing, with a grassroots vibe, to SilverStar and Quebec City. Whether you’re interested to register as an athlete, keen on spectating or volunteering, here’s your guide on where and how to get amongst the action this summer.

What is Crankworx Summer Series Canada?

The multi-stop Crankworx Summer Series Canada has been designed specifically to bring together pinned locals, top amateurs, and up-and-coming youngsters, while attracting top riders keen to mix, mingle, and drop in. In 2022, the Crankworx Summer Series Canada will take flight from two Canadian destinations, bringing together riding communities to SilverStar and Quebec City.

How does the Summer Series work?

The inaugural Crankworx Summer Series Canada (CSSC) will tabulate results from multiple competition disciplines, in a two-stop, epic test of a rider’s skill and will. Racing from British Columbia to Quebec, Open Category athletes can aim to collect as many points as possible for a shot at winning a piece of the $7500 CAD series overall prize purse. Crankworx Summer Series Canada festivals are about creating racing opportunities for amateur athletes, building the pathway to gaining results to participate in Crankworx Whistler and even the world tour.

Where & when is the summer series being held?

Stop 1 – SilverStar Bike Park, July 28 – 31:

• July 28 – Dual Slalom

• July 29 – Pump Track

• July 30 – Air DH

• July 31 – Title Slopestyle at SilverStar Bike Park (Gold-Level)

Stop 2 – Quebec City, September 1-5:

• September 1 – Red Bull UCI Pump Track World Championships Qualifier at Empire 47

• September 2 – Sentiers du Moulin Slopestyle (Bronze-level)

• September 3 – Vallee Bras du Nord Air DH

• September 4 – Le Massif de Charlevoix Kidsworx Activations

• September 5 – Mont Sainte Anne Dual Slalom

Who can register to race?

Anyone can register for the Summer Series Canada events, with the exception of the Gold-Level FMB Slopestyle event at SilverStar on July 31st. Crankworx Summer Series Canada festivals are about creating racing opportunities for amateur athletes, building the pathway to gaining results to participate in Crankworx Whistler and even the world tour.

How much does it cost to register?

Registration fees will vary for each event, but expect to budget for around $60 to $109 for each of the events you register for.

Athletes participating in Crankworx Summer Series Canada – SilverStar events will receive a 50% discount on lift tickets for training and competition days.  Registered athletes will simply need to present proof of registration on the training day and day of the event to redeem the pass discount.

Series Disciplines

Slopestyle: Gravity-fed and loaded with man-made features—giant sculpted jumps, narrow canon logs, near-vertical wallrides, huge drops—Slopestyle delivers tricks, flips and high-energy, mind-blowing action. Crankworx Slopestyle is sanctioned by the Freeride Mountain Bike Association.

Pump Track: Speed, flow and power are what push riders to the top in this head-to-head style competition. Without the ability to pedal, riders use the explosive starts, raw strength and the momentum of rollers on man-made tracks to pump enough speed to round the berms and cross the finish line first.

Speed & Style: The art of a Speed & Style win lies in the rider’s ability to pull off the best tricks on the fastest run down a gravity-fed course, out-witting all opponents by duking it out in pairs to slowly narrow the field.

Downhill (DH): Natural trails, a mix of technical features and steep, gnarly lines, plus riders’ innate ability to pin it down the mountain, make this full-throttle race a heart-stopper from top to bottom.

Dual Slalom: Raw rivalry is the name of the game in Dual Slalom. This crowd-pleasing format pits two competitors against one another in a side-by-side battle against each other, and the clock, to avoid elimination.

Series Updates

This just in! The Pump Track event at Crankworx Summer Series Canada – SilverStar will now allow for BMX bikes for the CWNEXT Categories (U15, U17, U19). For all other categories, the Pump Track event at SilverStar will require a 26″ wheel minimum.
