What is the Crankworx Summer Series?

The Crankworx Summer Series (CSS) is an adrenaline-pumping mountain biking festival that welcomes riders of all backgrounds and abilities, bringing the excitement of the world-renowned Crankworx World Tour to new locations in New Zealand and Canada. In 2025, the festival returns to New Zealand, taking over Christchurch Adventure Park in Canterbury from February 13-16, 2025.

Whether you’re a local amateur or an international pro, CSS offers an inclusive environment where riders of all levels can compete on world-class courses in an event packed with exciting races, extraordinary tricks, and the signature Crankworx vibe.

When and where is the event taking place?

The Crankworx Summer Series 2025 will be held from February 13-16, 2025, at Christchurch Adventure Park in Canterbury, New Zealand.

2025 marks the first time a Gold Level Slopestyle event will be held in New Zealand. This top-tier competition is part of the Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) World Tour and will attract elite riders showcasing spectacular tricks and massive jumps. It’s a major event with significant points and prize money on the line.

Additionally, the Christchurch Adventure Park will debut brand-new courses, including a World Cup-level Downhill track and a permanent head-to-head Pump Track, which will leave a lasting legacy for the local biking community.

As part of the 2025 Summer Series, Christchurch Adventure Park is debuting permanent, professional-standard facilities, including a head-to-head Pump Track a World Cup-level Downhill track and Gold level Slopestyle course. What is Crankworx?

Crankworx is the ultimate mountain biking festival, bringing together the world’s best riders to compete across multiple disciplines. Launched in Whistler, Canada, in 2004, Crankworx has evolved into an international series, with stops around the globe. The Crankworx Summer Series (CSS) was launched in 2020 to bring the Crankworx experience to new locations. Now a key event in the mountain biking calendar, CSS draws riders and fans from all over, including local heroes and international stars.


ATHLETE AND EVENT INFORMATION

How can I register as an athlete?

Athlete registration opens on December 3, 2024, at 10:00 AM NZDT and closes on February 9, 2025, at 11:59 PM NZDT.

Registration is simple! Just follow this link below, create a rider profile, and select the races you’d like to enter. Be sure to register early, as spots are limited!

Who can compete in the Crankworx Summer Series?

The festival is open to all levels of riders. Whether you’re a local amateur, up-and-coming talent, or seasoned professional, Crankworx offers the chance to compete against national and international athletes in the Pump Track, Downhill and Jump Jam*. Slopestyle is an invitation only event. *Subject to entry availability.

Am I old enough to compete?

To participate, all riders must be at least 13 years old by December 31, 2025. This means your year of birth must be 2012 or earlier.

Am I good enough to compete?

Absolutely! There are offerings within the Crankworx Summer Series that are designed for riders of all levels. Whether you compete in local, regional, or national races, we encourage you to get involved. The festival brings all the excitement of a World Tour event, but without the pressure of the elite level. It’s a great opportunity to race on world-class trails, challenge yourself, and ride alongside your friends and fellow competitors.

Is this a ticketed event?

Yes, Crankworx Summer Series 2025 is a ticketed event. Tickets go on sale in early November 2024, with a range of options available, including single-day passes, multi-day passes, and family passes to suit all schedules and budgets.

However, Thursday and Friday are free for everyone to attend, be sure to register online for your free pass in November when tickets go on sale.

When do tickets go on sale?
