Chasing the Triple Crown: David Godziek on Crankworx 2025
As the 2025 Crankworx World Tour draws near, the excitement is real with Rotorua, New Zealand setting the stage for an epic season opener. For David Godziek, the upcoming season represents a new chapter in an already thrilling career defined by precision, passion, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.
Coming off a pivotal season in 2024, Godziek reflects on the evolution that brought him to the top of his game:
“2024 was a breakthrough year for me, and I believe the biggest difference came from refining my mindset. I focused on staying present and trusting the process, which allowed me to perform without overthinking. On top of that, I built on my 2023 season with consistent training, focusing on strength, precision, and perfecting my lines.”
The 2025 Crankworx World Tour, and more specifically the Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship (SWC), kicks off in Rotorua, New Zealand before heading to Cairns, Australia, and wrapping up in Whistler, Canada. The challenge of winning the Triple Crown of Slopestyle two seasons in a row sets the bar high but it’s one that the RockShox athlete is eager to tackle head-on.
“Reclaiming the Triple Crown of Slopestyle is absolutely a goal for me in 2025. It’s an incredible challenge that requires top performance at every stop, but that’s what makes it so exciting. My approach is to stay consistent both physically and mentally—training hard to prepare my body while staying focused and adaptable throughout the tour.”

Rotorua has always been a place where riders find new inspiration and keep pushing the limits of what’s possible on two wheels. For David, working with SRAM and RockShox has been a game-changer with the partner always supportive and encouraging of the ways he elevates his riding:
“Working with SRAM and RockShox is a perfect fit for me. Their dedication to innovation mirrors my own drive to push boundaries in Slopestyle and continuously evolve my riding. In Slopestyle, where every detail counts, suspension plays a crucial role in giving me the confidence to go bigger and push my limits. The right setup helps absorb the impact from massive landings and keeps the bike stable, which is essential for maintaining flow and control. It’s all about precision—having a setup that feels seamless allows me to focus entirely on executing tricks, knowing my bike will handle the rest.”

Beyond the successes, podiums, and awards, Godziek is focused on inspiring the next generation of riders, something that’s been a big part of his own career: “The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to trust in my own style and journey. It’s easy to compare yourself to others, but staying true to what makes you unique is where real growth happens.”
As Crankworx Rotorua approaches, the excitement builds for another amazing season. For David, it’s not just about competing—it’s about pushing his limits, taking on challenges, and celebrating the community that makes Crankworx such a special part of mountain biking.
