Step 4: Random Draw
One lucky finalist will be randomly selected from all valid entries using a verifiable method. This will ensure fairness, with details of the selection broadcast by our media partner on air or via a random selection method with Crankworx New Zealand. The candidate will be drawn on Wednesday 19th February 2025 at 4:30pm NZDT.
Random Selection Tool
The winner will be selected through a fair and transparent random draw process, ensuring that all valid entries are accurately represented based on the number of entries earned by each participant. The draw will be conducted using a verified random selection tool, and the process will be internally reviewed and documented to ensure compliance with competition rules. All entries will be weighted proportionally to reflect the number of chances each participant has earned. This ensures that the draw is entirely chance-based, fair, and impartial.
Record-Keeping and Documentation
A detailed record of the selection process, including the date, time, method, and an internal staff member’s verification of the draw, will be retained for auditing and accountability. This documentation serves as a safeguard to maintain transparency.
Notification of Participants
The selected finalist will be notified within 24 hours of the initial random draw. By entering the competition, participants agree that the selection process will be conducted in this manner. The Crankworx team will also notify the public that the finalist was chosen in a fair and transparent process.
Optional Oversight
If required, an impartial staff member may act as an internal witness to verify the selection was conducted according to these outlined procedures.

Step 5: Attend the event
If selected as the finalist, you’ll be invited to Crankworx Rotorua and hosted at the event for the Live Selection event. As a finalist, you’ll receive up to $1,200 NZD in covered travel expenses (flights, transfers and accommodation), provided you attend the event in person to participate in the live selection event for your chance to win the vehicle.

Step 6: The Live Selection Event
The finalist will participate in a live selection event on-site at Crankworx Rotorua on 9 March 2025.
The finalist will have a 1 in 100 chance of winning the grand prize. The selection mechanism (e.g., keys, envelopes, or another comparable method) will not impact the odds of winning. The Promoter reserves the right to finalize and communicate the specific mechanism at least seven (7) days prior to the Live Selection Event. The process will be conducted with oversight and approval from a Independent Authority This oversight ensures that the selection process is fair, impartial, and fully transparent, in accordance with New Zealand legal standards.

Step 7: Consolation Prize

Prize

  1. The Prize: The Grand Prize is currently advertised as an adventure vehicle valued at over $80,000 NZD. The final prize details may include specific brand partnerships or enhancements, which will be reflected in the confirmed prize value. In all cases, the prize will maintain a minimum total value of $80,000 NZD. The selected Contestant will have a chance to win the Grand Prize by participating in a live competition at the Crankworx Rotorua event. If the Contestant does not win the vehicle, they will be awarded a consolation prize, valued at over $10,000, (a travel package for two to Crankworx Whistler 2025), including round-trip flights from Auckland to Vancouver, airport transfers, a five-night hotel stay from August 13-18, 2025, and VIP tickets for two to the Red Bull Joyride. The final configuration of the Prize may be influenced by brand partnerships confirmed during the Promotional Period. Participants acknowledge that these partnerships may enhance or modify the prize without altering its minimum advertised value.
  1. Prize Delivery:
    1. The Grand Prize (a vehicle valued at $80,000 NZD) will be delivered to the winner within 30 business days of the live selection event, subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with competition rules.
    1. The consolation prize, valued at over $10,000 NZD (a travel package for two) will be arranged and confirmed with the winner within 30 business days of the live selection event.
    1. The Promoter will liaise with the winner regarding prize delivery logistics. In case of unforeseen delays (e.g., supply chain issues or third-party processing delays), the Promoter will notify the winner and provide a revised timeline.
    1. All prize values reflect the retail or market value of the components at the time of the competition launch, including both sponsored and purchased elements. The stated value represents the equivalent cost if purchased independently.
    1. Conditions:
      1. If for any unforeseeable or other special circumstances outside the Promoter’s reasonable control the Prize or any element of the Prize is no longer available, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize for something else similar to the Prize of the same or greater value.
      1. The Promoter reserves the right to update or substitute the Prize with a similar or upgraded prize of equal or greater value. Any such changes will be communicated to participants via the official competition website and direct notifications to registered entrants. These updates will not alter the conditions of entry or participants’ chances of winning.
    1. Non-Transferability: The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash, any other form of consideration, or substituted with any other prize or benefit. Consolation prizes may be transferred to immediate family members or a candidate of the winner’s choosing, provided they meet the competition eligibility requirements and are approved by the Promoter.

Winning the Prize

  1. The Draw: The candidate will be drawn on Wednesday 19th February 2025 at 4:30pm NZDT.
  2. Winner Selection: One finalist will be selected at random from all valid and qualifying entries, ensuring a fair and equal chance for all entrants. The selection will be conducted using an independent, random selection tool, with the process verified by an internal staff member. The result will be announced via the media partner on-air or by Crankworx Rotorua.
  3. Notification:
    1. The Promoter reserves the right to determine the method of notifying the winner, which may include a live announcement on air, email, phone, or other suitable communication channels. The chosen notification method will be finalized and communicated to participants before the draw takes place on Wednesday, 19 February 2025.
    1. If the winner cannot be reached within 24 hours of the initial notification attempt, the Prize will no longer be available to that Prize winner, and a redraw will be conducted using the same independent selection process.
  4. Live Selection Event: The finalist must attend the live Crankworx Rotorua event in person on 9 March 2025.

The Promoter reserves the right to determine the final mechanism for selecting the winning entry at the Live Selection Event. This mechanism may involve selecting keys, envelopes, or other comparable methods. The stated odds of winning (1 in 100) will remain consistent, and the finalist will be informed of the mechanism at least seven (7) days prior to the event. The selection process will be conducted fairly and transparently, with oversight from a qualified independent authority. This authority will ensure compliance with the competition terms and conditions as well as insurance policy requirements. If technical or logistical issues arise (e.g., malfunctioning keys), the Promoter will implement a replacement method to ensure fairness and impartiality. Should unforeseen circumstances prevent the finalist from completing the selection process within the designated time frame, the Promoter may provide an alternative mechanism to ensure fairness and preserve the integrity of the competition.
